About us

Metrowaste is a family owned and operated refuse and recyclables collector and transfer station operator with vast experience in the waste industry in New Zealand. The company was started by its owner R Bruce Dean in 1979 and is now the largest wholly New Zealand owned waste stream processor in the country.

Metrowaste has no vested interest in maintaining landfill levels; and therefore embraces the concepts of reduce, recycle, recover and reuse wherever possible.

Metrowaste has an exemplary track record of providing service to customers ranging from large urban and rural councils and commercial and industrial business to small and medium sized enterprises and private individuals. We have highly sophisticated purpose-built vehicles and plant, and very importantly, an experienced, highly qualified, innovative and motivated team of people throughout the company from its executives to the drivers and runners on the street.

Metrowaste’s current operations are based in Auckland, Rodney and the Waikato.
